i'm a foodie because ...

I hate bacon, but love pancetta;
I loathe cabbage, but adore endives;
I despise spinach, but revere swiss chard;
I'm revolted by green beans, but enraptured by haricot verts.

... apropos of nothing, except rampant foodieism everywhere -- and my eternal conflict between loving food and still getting a shiver down my spine every time I hear that word.
